8| Wise and Foolish Virgins

Everyone who dove into the lampstand found themselves walking with the Father in a garden of delights. Each was served a steak of meaty friendship with the Father that perfectly met their deepest seat of desire. When they surrendered fully to the light, they now became marked as those who fully “belong to God.” [81] The Father reciprocated their full surrender with His full surrender, for He gave His intimate friendship to them and declared Himself to be “their only inheritance.” [82] His heart was filled with glorious delight as He led them each through His expansive gardens and pools. Those who longed for love and companionship now found their satisfaction met far beyond their expectation. Those who longed to explore ancient mysteries with Him found themselves walking on crystal paths, across streams of life that flowed through banks made of precious gems and shimmering metallic sands in the garden of God. The precious counsel and knowledge of God now seeped deep into the hearts of the people, reaching even deeper than the wine stewards could touch. The fruit of diving into the lampstand ultimately became the fruit of knowing the Father and walking with Him in the places where He dwells. As I watched this unfold, I was reminded of Job’s description of his walk with God:

“How I long for the months gone by, for the days when God watched over me,

“when his lamp shone on my head and by His light I walked through the darkness!

“Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God’s intimate friendship blessed my house,

“When the Almighty was still with me and my children were around me,

“when my path was drenched with cream and the rock poured out for me streams of olive oil” (Job 29:2-6, emphasis added).

This holy company had now entered into a level of holiness where no darkness could penetrate. They did not just have access to the lampstand—they had become one with the lampstand and now stood as living witnesses who shone with a terrifying level of light. Even as the darkness reached maturity below, this company was beginning to walk on paths of holiness that the enemy could no longer reach, touch, or see clearly. They had fulfilled William Branham’s words and risen up above the emerald plane, to the unshakeable section of the mountain of God. As the world shook and heaved with the pressure of new trials, they found their lives saturated with endless streams of olive oil, a “creamy richness of knowing Him” that nothing could shake. [83]

The people now had the liberty to explore the heights and depths and broad horizons of the person of God and I was reminded again of the 70 elders of Israel, who saw God and ate with Him upon the sapphire floor. In that text, fellowshipping with God became the foundation for governing the earth by His counsel and power, which was the Father’s ultimate intention for this assembly.
